The project features approximately 950 apartments, with two-thirds being affordable social housing, plus amenities including a kindergarten, middle school, shops, and recreational spaces. The design prioritises climate resilience and sustainability through extensive green roofs, facade greening, and native species plantings.
Biotope City Wienerberg is the world's first GREENPASS Platinum-certified district, recognised for its innovative approach to climate adaptation optimising heat reduction, biodiversity enhancement, and rainwater management. It serves as a model for integrating nature into smart city planning, demonstrating that high-density housing can coexist harmoniously with green spaces whilst addressing climate change and providing high quality of life.
