A hands-on online workshop exploring how digital twin technology can transform urban planning — with practical demonstrations from Helsinki, Rotterdam, and Vienna.
Digital twins — virtual replicas of physical cities — are transforming how urban planners visualise, simulate, and test decisions before committing resources. But for many municipalities, the technology remains opaque and inaccessible.
This practical, hands-on workshop demystifies digital twin technology. Led by practitioners who have built and deployed urban digital twins, the session will take participants from concept to implementation, with live demonstrations and Q&A.
This workshop is designed for urban planners, GIS specialists, municipal IT teams, and anyone interested in the practical application of digital twin technology. No prior technical expertise is required.
The workshop features speakers from Helsinki's 3D City Model team, Rotterdam's Digital City programme, and Vienna's Smart City agency, alongside Urban Impact's own digital infrastructure specialists.
Registration is free but places are limited to ensure interactive participation. A recording will be available on the Smart Cities Hub for those unable to attend live.
