Today we are thrilled to announce the first alpha release of the Smart Cities Hub — a collaborative digital platform connecting urban innovators, researchers, and city-makers across Europe.
Today marks a milestone we have been working towards for over a year. The Smart Cities Hub (SCH) is now live in its first alpha release — and we could not be more excited to share it with you.
The Smart Cities Hub is a collaborative digital platform designed to connect the people, projects, organisations, and knowledge that are shaping the future of European cities. Whether you are a municipal planner exploring digital twin technologies, a researcher studying urban resilience, or a community activist building citizen participation platforms, SCH is your home.
European cities face an unprecedented convergence of challenges: climate change, housing affordability, digital transformation, social inclusion, and ageing infrastructure. Thousands of organisations and projects are tackling these challenges — but they are doing so in silos.
We built the Smart Cities Hub to break those silos. By bringing together resources, events, projects, and organisations into one searchable, curated platform, we aim to accelerate collaboration and knowledge-sharing across borders.
In this alpha release, the platform already includes:
This is just the beginning. In the coming months we will be rolling out interactive city comparison tools, community features, and deeper integrations with urban data platforms. Your feedback during this alpha phase is invaluable — it will directly shape the platform's evolution.
We invite you to explore, contribute resources, and join the conversation. Together, we can build smarter, more inclusive, and more resilient cities across Europe.
"The Smart Cities Hub is not just a platform — it is a movement. A space where the brightest minds in urban innovation can find each other, learn from each other, and build together." — Jonas Schorr, CEO, Urban Impact
